Amazingly it is just 18 months since new commercial Disco/House production/remix team 7th Heaven, Jon Dixon & Andy Wetson (aka as DJ Andy Almighty), did their first 2 remixes, Sunkids ft. Chance ’Rise Up’ for Boss and Loleatta Holloway ’Love Sensation 06’ for Gusto. The duo have been in constant demand ever since, to a point that today they’re one of the highest profile remix teams around.
They’ve remixed many high profile club anthems including Flanders ’By My Side’ for Gusto, Denis The Menace & Jerry Ropero vs. Francesco Diaz ’Time To Turn Around’ for Lowered and the hugely popular track by Lorraine ’Transatlantic Flight’ for Columbia. For UMM they remixed Euro-House legends 49ers ft. Ann-Marie Smith ’Let The Sunshine In’ and Love Assassins ’Teardrops’. For Champion there’s the Disco-inspired track from Hi On Life ft. Joniece ’Goodbye’, The Sphinx ft. Sabrina Johnston 'What Hope Have I' and Liquid Gold 'Dance Yourself Dizzy'. For Ministry Of Sound the boys have remixed a variety of projects including Eric Prydz vs. Pink Floyd ’Proper Education’, SJB ft. Jane Wiedlin ’Rush Hour’, Dance Nation ’Move Your Love’ and Digital Dog ft. 45 Flat ’Dirty’ (Data).
They’ve even remixed their heroes Freemasons with their 2006 club anthem ’Rain Down Love’ and again in 2007 on Russell and James brilliant Northern Soul masterpiece ’Nothing But A Heartache’.
In 2007, these successful remix projects - Bliss Inc ’Faith’, Earth Wind & Fire ’Boogie Wonderland ’07’, Simply Red ’Stay’, Darren Hayes ’Me Myself & (I)’ and Booty Luv ’Some Kinda Rush’ helped build 7th Heaven's profile. The idea for remaking Gwen Guthrie’s classic ’Ain’t Nothin’ Goin’ On But The Rent’ came about after Ministry Of Sound approached 7th Heaven to produce a demo for Booty Luv’s album. This had always been a favourite track of both Jon and Andy and this idea was worked .. approaching legendary House vocalist Katherine Ellis, who loved the demo, the project took further shape when she delivered THE most fantastic vocal. Since when, with just a few copies uin circulation, the demand for this track has been quite phenomenal. Gaydar Radio have had this on their A-list for most of the summer and it has been the station’s most requested track ever since.
'Ain’t Nothin’ Goin' On But The Rent' has now been signed to Ministry Of Sound’s new pop imprint Hard2Beat. It was club promoted earlier this year with a view to a summer 2008 release. It reached 2 in the Cool Cuts chart.
